The wayfinding concept was developed utilizing basic forms and shapes within the existing firm logo. These forms are: the square, the arc, and the circle. Each of these elements were used to develop a hierarchy of spaces which will help provide answers to: * Establishing identifiable entry * Establishing identifiable destinations * Establishing efficient interior traffic routes * Establishing arrival queues In conjunction with the forms, signage and lighting provide clarity to this hierarchical pattern language. Interior landmarks help identify points of arrival, major intersections, and vertical circulation. The wayfinding system gives structure, standards and overall coherence to an existing system that is partially in place. Interior landmarks and hierarchical signage will greatly enhance wayfinding and the aesthetic hospital environment.
