The South Addition project for Chesapeake General Hospital consist of multiple projects including 86,572 SF of space. The 6th floor, previously an office area, was the first phase of this multi-phase project. This space was renovated to include a 30-bed nursing unit with 8 pediatric beds, nurse stations, and support spaces. This project also includes telemetry with a central monitor. The 6th floor is a prototype for the patient room, handicapped patient room, and nurse station core areas. This prototype will be used to add one nursing unit and renovate 5 other nursing units. The 1st floor portion of this project includes pre-admission testing, a women's unit, radiology, an observation unit, a special procedures unit, an MRI addition, and a CT addition. The 2nd and 3rd floor areas include offices and mechanical spaces.
