The 4,292 square foot office space is designed to provide the atmosphere of an upscale downtown architectural firm. The environment is comfortable, inviting, and invigorating. The core of the space, which is visible through custom-made glass doors, includes an eye-catching entryway leading into the reception area and formal conference room. The focus is on the displays of projects, framed and highlighted by serpentine wall wash lights. The reception desk is designed to mimic the lines of the floor. Wood, glass and metal is used to incorporate interesting architectural details. Pendant lights are used to accentuate the colors and create a warm and inviting ambiance. Patterns, shapes, and vibrant colors utilized throughout the office suite help stimulate employee creativity. One goal was to create an ‘outside of the box’ impression to peak client interest in the firm. The high quality, sophisticated carpet is free-floating with magenta colored geometric squares, giving it a 3-dimensional quality. The space is laid out to create easy access to the separate work areas; visitors do not have to worry about getting in the way of production. The principals are located in a separate yet central location to allow access from every department. The employee workstations are designed specifically for architectural functions. They include deep work surfaces to accommodate large-scale drawings, and use ergonomic keyboard trays and chairs for employee health. Low partitions stimulate creativity and teamwork.
