The team effort and hard work of our staff including the principals, architects, designers, and administration alike culminated on November 12th, 2009 into the incomparable “Hungry, Hungry Hammerhead” structure made entirely out of cans. This year marked the 13h annual Hampton Roads Canstruction® competition to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. PF&A Design competed with 10 other teams representing top local architectural firms, engineering firms, and universities to build 8 x 10 foot structures out of cans. Our structure “Hungry, Hungry Hammerhead” was honored with an award for its structural integrity and ingenuity. Even better, the event resulted in a total of 85,000 pounds of food which was all donated to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.
