W. Stanley Jennings Outpatient Center - CRMC
The W. Stanley Jennings Outpatient Center is a two-story, 38,000 square foot building located to the north of the main hospital.
The building houses multiple functions. On the first floor are an Urgent Care Center and Pre-Surgery Diagnostics. The Urgent Care Center contains ten exam rooms, a large procedure room, and x-ray facilities. The Diagnostic area supports three EKGs, blood draw and lab facilities. The Outpatient Surgery on the second floor provides 14 private pre-op/post-op rooms, four operating rooms, and support services.
Upon entering the Center, the floors and casework bring the outside in with their curves and long lines originating from the metal panels and the exterior white banding. The play on symmetrical and asymmetrical design of the building masses is also coordinated with the interior details.
With the numerous windows and the glass spline, plenty of natural light made this building an aesthetically calming and inviting environment. Natural daylight is used throughout the building and the circulation spline uses clerestory lighting. The PACU area and two surgery suites capture shared light directly from the corridor. Low E glass is used in all curtain walls and east facing windows.
The site is heavily landscaped, and a healing garden with a koi pond and fountain are designed to allow patients and visitors a calming and relaxing atmosphere in the midst of a nervous and stressful time.
