As a guest speaker, Sharon engages the audience with the complex issues arising in the industry resulting from COVID and the impacts on design and construction Discussion points included how modular design may or may not be an answer, and how to look at various project delivery methods for speed, and what is best overall for the owner in value.

2022 VSHE-Virginia Society of Healthcare Engineers Conference
Sara Heppe, Principal with PF&A Design led an expert panel discussion on the new 14-story Children’s Pavilion with In-Patient Behavioral Health Beds and Out-Patient Clinical service lines. WMJordan, CHKD, and Array Architects were also engaged in the discussion of how CHKD is progressing pediatric behavioral health with a new mental health service line.

Recently Sharon was a proud participant representing PF&A Design along with 3 other representatives in welcoming the final candidates for the new Department Head for the Stuckeman School of Architecture. The other representatives were Lloyd Sigal, Principal, KPF Associate; Josh Seller, Architect, CRV Group; Francisco Bonilla, Associate, Ayers Saint Gross.
